Championing educational development causes through social marketing, fifty three (53) school leaders from various universities in the country attended the seminar “Social Marketing for School Success” at the Asian Institute of Management last October 6, 2011.

Greetings!

Once again, we launch the search for the finest students in Marketing. The Philippine Marketing Association in cooperation with the Association of Marketing Educators (AME) and the Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA) embark on yet another nationwide campaign to select and honor the “Outstanding Marketing Students” and “Outstanding Student Marketing Association”.

Now dubbed as the Agora Youth Awards, we will give Marketing majors who have successfully finished at least 18 units of marketing subjects, a chance to be recognized for their excellence and commendable accomplishments in their field.

In this light, the Youth and Academe Committee of the Philippine Marketing Association invites you to take part in this endeavor by nominating and encouraging your Marketing students and your marketing students association to participate in this worthwhile undertaking. The PMA is committed to making this search a challenging and fulfilling endeavor for the school and its students by tapping industry partners as supporters and providing maximum mileage and publicity for the campaign.

Your guidance and support of the students you nominate is crucial to their success in this competition. Their victory is as much your victory. The nominations must include an endorsement from the Dean of the College and a marketing professor who will be the student’s adviser in the competition. We will likewise recognize the student’s adviser in the forthcoming awards in March 2012.

We invite you to submit a maximum of six (6) student entries and one (1) entry for the school organization (marketing association) per school. Deadline of submission of entries is November 25, 2011 until 3pm. We have attached the mechanics and guidelines for the nominations for your review.

Integrity Summit 2011

Top business leaders in the country pledged their support to President Benigno S. Aquino III in campaigning against corruption in the private sector during the 1^st Philippine Integrity Summit held at the Marriott Hotel Manila in Pasay City.

In his speech, President Aquino encouraged business leaders to act upon their commitment in eradicating the culture of corruption. “Let me remind you that our collective desire to instill integrity into our respective communities does not end here with a pledge of integrity. We are now obliged to live up to this pledge,” the President said.

The summit was organized by the Integrity Initiative, a private-sector led campaign that seeks to institutionalize integrity standards among various sectors of society. Integrity Summit and Makati Business Club Chairman Ramon Del Rosario referred to the campaign as a private-public partnership towards cultivating the culture of integrity in the country.

The event highlights the launching of the Unified Code of Conduct (UCC) for business that will serve as a guide for companies that have signed the Integrity Pledge. The UCC describes how business corporations will uphold the highest standards of ethics in all their transaction that will, in the long run, create a fair and competitive market conditions in the country.

The Integrity Initiative is confident that with its success, it will not only revitalize the country’s image but, at the same time, will be considered as a good destination for foreign investors.
