INTERSCHOOL STRATMARK N 2009 COMPETITION

The Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) announces the launch of the 2009 STRATMARK COMPETITION, an annual activity organized by the PMA for its affiliates, the ASSOCIATION OF MARKETING EDUCATORS (AME) and the PHILIPPINE JUNIOR MARKETING ASSOCIATION (PJMA). The objectives of this activity are: to provide marketing students with a platform to test what they learned in the classroom and to give them a taste of how it is to present and defend their ideas before professionals.
This year, the Competition will depart from the usual format of preparing and presenting marketing plans by venturing into the challenging field of market research. This new competition format aims to give students the actual experience of conducting a consumer survey, presenting their findings and making their own analysis based on the data they gathered. Through the competition, the PMA hopes to instill in the students the vital role of research in marketing.
The survey will focus on the dining habits of students in two age segments, 12 to 17 years and 18 to 24 years. The competition is open to all schools whose students are members of the PJMA and whose faculty are members of AME. Each team will be required to draft the survey instrument or questionnaire, to conduct the actual survey and to draw their own findings from the data gathered.
Three teams will be selected as winners. All teams who submit their survey results and findings will be considered semifinalists. Schools are invited to send a team of six marketing students to join the competition.
