Message from the President
At the height of desperation in the country, my foreign principal told me, “Von, whatever you are experiencing in the Philippines right now, you deserve!”
But before I can ship him back to his country, he continued to say, “Because people like you, with the right intentions and the right capabilities refuse to get involved and to get out of your comfort zone!”
I declined the PMA Presidency twice. I looked the other way, I refused to get out of my comfort zone, and yes, I am guilty! But tonight, I stand before you as the 2011 President of the Philippine Marketing Association, armed with the loving support of my husband, Dustin, the full backing of my company, Emperador Distillers, Inc and the valuable cooperation of my 2011 Officers and Board of Directors. I have cleared my conscience to bring out only the rightful intentions and as for my capabilities, my Pastor has assured me, that each one of us, has what it takes for God to create His miracle!
I have chosen the theme, “Commitment to Marketing Excellence” because this year, our projects will be raised to greater heights to produce results that are committed to no less than marketing excellence.
For this, I call upon the men and women of the 2011 Board. Let us work as a TEAM. Let us forget our personal gains and purposes. After all, together, everybody achieves more.
To the PMA membership, I call for your active involvement and participation… this is YOUR association, and we need your time, your talent and support. And hopefully together, we will benefit from the bountiful harvest.
To the Council of Presidents, we ask you to share with us your wisdom and your invaluable guidance. Let us continue to celebrate more PMA anniversaries together!
To our Chapters nationwide, thank for believing in us. We welcome you to the fold and together, let us weave new and lasting beginnings for the PMA.
To the Secretariat, thank you for being with us all these years. Together we pursue to grow and mature, and to you who persevered, much is given.
To our allied marketing groups, the Association of Marketing Educators (AME) and the PJMA, we value your contribution and alliance. Let us work together to make things happen for the Marketing profession.
And to our colleagues from the industry, aptly represented tonight, The Philippine Marketing Association extends a hand of friendship and concern. Together, let us work for a more progressive Philippines!
Ladies and Gentlemen, the road is long and winding, the ride bumpy from the twists and turns, but as God is my only assurance, it will be faithfully worthwhile to… GO THE DISTANCE!!!
